Do you think games could become a waste of time?
Do you think games could become a waste of time if people can't control themselves ?

There is people who get addicted to any type of game!

Wether on FB, game sites, video game, ETC...

but they don't have auto control and they end up leaving important stuff like home work or actual work for LATER and most of the time end up doing bad in the real life because they were to busy playing a game.

Games can also ruin relationships, if one doesn't know how to control it!

Of course games can become a waste of time and ruin everything.

But that is not really a problem of the game. It depends on how strong the person is.

I play maybe 2 hours or a bit more a day when I have time and longer on the weekends, but I have no problem to stop playing games.

I don't own a Facebook account and I don't play any games on game sites. I only play normal games like Battlefield Bad Company 2 or MW + MW3.

Games are a waste of time, at least, they are for me. I'm always messing around on GTA or Saints Row when I should be studying or working. I'm trying to play less.

Games are a waste of time. That was what they were created for. The pass time in an enjoyable way, but don't get anything productive done in the real word. It's a fact of games.

That's not true, you *can* get something productive done, in second life for example, you can make money. And in minecraft you can create pretty cool designs and such..

Depends on your view of "waste of time". Progressing in a game to some people isn't considered wasting time, while others view that it is. I personally love video games, but I don't let it get in the way of my studies / relationships with friends. Luckily, my best friends all play computer games like me so we all play together :)

I think games are originally designed so that people could waste time playing them. But sometimes, you could do productive things while playing games. It tests your hand-eye coordination, for one. Also, there are people who play games as their job. So, it really depends on the people playing them. Wasting time is not entirely a bad thing, after all. :)

Gaming isn't a waste of time any more/ less than any other hobby. It's just people need to learn some self control. Games don't make people play for 4 days straight and drop dead. Lack of self control does that.

While it's true that lack of self-control is the source of wasting, time, people can play for day and die, at least when the game they are playing is Diablo.

Lately the news have included stories of people that playing Diablo passed away, mostly for associated medical conditions, but it's terrible that someone can play till die.

As for me, I used to be addicted to Facebook's social games, but I got tired to waste my time. And I means that is truly irritating spend 6 or 7 hours playing Zynga games (mainly) to get their annoying messages that eventually roll you back and whatever achievement done is dismissed.

I have only lost time, but it must be very painful for people who pays real money to get fake money to play.

The point of life is to have fun, so no, I don't think gaming is a waste of time if you're enjoying yourself.
