What Wordpress plugins do you use?

I'm not running any Wordpress site at this moment because the recent software updates makes me feel like this software is getting complex to use, losing the former ground it was developed from.

However I used to remove Akismet first since it never was as useful to me, substituting it for a captcha plugin that I don't remember the name but adds a match challenge for either posting a comment, login, or register on site.
