Facebook is a private company, meaning they can do whatever they want, as long as they obey the national laws, as well as their own privacy policy:

The registration to this privately owned website is completely optional, and when you joined you were asked to read and accept their terms of service and well as their privacy policy, if you couldn't you shouldn't have joined. It's common sense, which sadly isn't so common anymore. I admit, that they can be a bit long to read, but at least skim the text.

And why precisely are we slaves?
- It might just that the world is deceiving me, but I'm not forced into labor or buying specific products. I'm not starving, and generally feel happy, and freely speak about everything from cars and politics, to universe and hypocrisy.

Seeing it from a perspective, Anonymous kinda reminds me of an adolescent child trying out the limits of it's powers. Imagine turning 18, getting a drivers license and a car. Wouldn't you try to see how fast the car could drive? As far as I can see/know, Anonymous isn't really a group as such, but more like a socially-influenced decentralized technology-based social-movement (sorta like a transactive hivemind).

The concept itself is brilliant, because it allows the creation of fantastic things, but sadly, these have yet to come, because instead of using the great potential to create great things, like using their PC's to cure cancer (http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/resear...verview.do ) and search for aliens (Seti@Home), or debating politics, find/create/collaborate on new ideas or ways, which can improve our way of living. - They use it all for destructive means, or means what the hivemind deems appropriate, such as ruining a private company for everyone else because they don't like it (or perhaps because it's in competition to their own Anon+ network). I hope, that one day, the enormous good potential will be used for good means, but as I said before, common sense isn't too common anymore, and I might just keep dreaming my altruistic dreams.

Again, to sum it up, I don't judge/condemn Anonymous on their concept as it boasts with potential, but instead their awkward miscarry will to choose what we should like and shouldn't like, by ruining a media such as Facebook, infesting Youtube with porn disguised as ordinary family material, as well as pestering a young boys life, just because he don't like all the swearing going around. I must admit, I'm not all innocent, as I one time admit that might have been partaking in the LOIC'ing of the Westboro Baptist Church (the "God hate's everything from America to fags"-guys), despite their (WBC's) obvious annoying ignorance and intolerance towards other people, it's not really up for me to decide and censor, and I regret it, especially, if we want to live with our free uncensored expression.

Such potential, but sadly status quo is that on average, their attacks have been mostly retarded.
