i think the best visual code editor ever is scite editor http://www.scintilla.org/SciTE.html as it has very basic functions to very advanced functions and is easy to use. and the best part is it is free. and it can be used to edit a lots of languages :D

I agree that SciTE is pretty usefull, but I still prefer notepad++ because it's portable and you can create your own languages and use them on your usb :D.
