I agree with Lance, if you are going to make an integrated chat script, then it would be easier to get a php chat from hotscripts, and then try to copy some of things into your own chat. It's not too hard, but it's not for the beginners either. But I assume you have a decent amount of php/js experience right? :)

Well, if you want them to be, then yes:
Hotscripts -> PHP -> Scripts & Applications -> Chat Scripts:
http://www.hotscripts.com/category/php/scripts-programs/chat-scripts/

Then you just just pick [Sort by] and set it to: Free

Then it will list all of those of them, which is free (about 270) ;)

Yeah, after checking it out again, I noticed it. The "Sort by"-thing doesn't work...anyway, in each box the license type is displayed in the bottom right corner.

Here's a few, in case you don't find the free ones on the page:

Hope this helps ;)

As I mentioned in my earlier post, these weren't "final" solutions, you were supposed to build your own script, but borrow some of the code from these. On second thought, I just came across this, it might be easier to pick out the parts you need from a framework:
http://ajaxim.com/

If you want anything more specific, I guess you'll have to either pay for it, or build it on your own.

You're not going to find a script that "magically" integrates itself into your login/register script, it's going to take a bit of work. If you don't even know PHP yet, you're not really going to be able to. Sorry :P

i know, and ive learned alot, and i know not that much to be able to do the login integration thing, but im not planning on adding the IM Bar really till i actually get finished with the site and it will be a long time, i haven't even set it up to let people join yet (i know how to do that :P )
