Lucid Dreams
Hello NiftyHost Community,
I wanted to talk with you about a pretty impressive thing. It's called lucid dreaming. Lucid dreams/ dreaming: Quote:A lucid dream is any dream in which one is aware that one is dreaming. The term was coined by the Dutch psychiatrist and writer Frederik (Willem) van Eeden (1860–1932). In a lucid dream, the dreamer may be able to exert some degree of control over their participation within the dream or be able to manipulate their imaginary experiences in the dream environment. Lucid dreams can be realistic and vivid. It is shown that there are higher amounts of beta-1 frequency band (13–19 Hz) experienced by lucid dreamers, hence there is an increased amount of activity in the parietal lobes making lucid dreaming a conscious process.Via: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucid_dream I had several lucid dreams, it's a impressive experience. What about you? |

RE: Lucid Dreams
It is actually one of the most interesting things we've studied in psychology. One of the advantages of lucid dreaming is that you can have some level of control over your dreams, thus preventing or stopping nightmares. I have yet to try it, but I've also learned that it needs a lot of practice before you master it. I envy you for being able to experience it already. :)

RE: Lucid Dreams
Finally someone has replied to this.
I'm happy that there are people who are interested in this. I can remember that I indeed controled the dream :). |

RE: Lucid Dreams
That's cool :) I remember when I really got into it - it was because I watched A Nightmare on Elm Street. I got carried away with the horror of it all and I desperately wanted to control my dreams or not sleep at all. Haha!

RE: Lucid Dreams
I've heard listening to theta waves or something helps increase you chances of lucid dreaming. I've never really tried it, though.

RE: Lucid Dreams
I've read quite a lot about lucid dreams, but never actually achieved one as of yet.
I've only tried one method though, when my sleep schedule is back to normal, I think I'm going to try and LD again. |
