Pre-ordering both games and movies are now just the same.

Agree with you, it was exciting getting them before anyone else, first for having something that nobody else would, second for whatever incentive coming along the way.

Today is all about securing their sales, not really to provide any benefit to consumers that can obtain just the same whether pre-ordering or waiting until the game (or movie) is available on their local stores or the Internet shops.
