Should Weed Be Legal?

The people who believe it should be illegal are just misinformed about what marijuana actually is and what it's effects are.

If weed were legalized our government would double it's revenue overnight.

No one who hasn't and will not try weed will go out and do so just because it gets legalized. The people who want to do it right now already do and all the money our government wastes on trying to prevent its usage is pointless.

I don't personally smoke it because I've never had a good reaction to it. That's just me. I, however, do not want to see my friends end up in jail for doing something as harmless as getting high while they game at each others houses and I don't want to be arrested by affiliation by hanging out with them. They are both successful people with decent jobs and education, not 'stoners' who spend all their time on the couch. I should not have to stop hanging out with my best friends just because they enjoy getting high occasionally. Nothing bad has ever come out of smoking weed for the people I know who are not dependency prone.
