RE: a question about "post to host"
  • Well, I guess the owner (HK? Or Zack?) would be willing to accept donations. (Most people on the earth does, moreover. :D )
Zack once expressed his will of founding a paid hosting service, but it's still in "NotImplemented" state, as far as I know.
  • There would be much less Chinese users that are willing donate than the ones that loves posting posts, I'm afraid. :)
  • I always hold the belief that no external deficiency has more impact than the a person's attitude. If one wants to compose high-quality posts, he could find a way to do it (say thank to the infinite power in our brains, which are way beyond any human imagination), even though it may lead to a dramatic decrease of the amount of posts, and could take quite a long period of time. (Most of my posts take more than 20 minutes to compose and refine, while some take hours or days.); and if one just comes for the hosting service all along, the result is destined, too, and that's probably the key problem. Language issue is important, but not really decisive.
  • After all, Post2Host is more or less a kind of trade. You devote your time and knowledge, and the service/forum returns a hosting package, and frequently some extra prizes, e.g. more friends, more knowledge, and opportunities to become the richest person in the world. (There are chances, indeed, that you can meet Paul Allen II on NiftyHost forums. :D ) The underlying principle is somehow similar to the one of a gambling game. (Unfortunately devoting the same elements -- time and knowledge -- into a gambling game usually causes one to lose more. :D ) If one cannot afford the cost (e.g. if he totally lacks the ability to speak English, not perfectly, but at least mostly correctly) or is unwilling to, the trade simply isn't suitable for him, and he shall search for the "free hosting" services with usually unsatisfactory quality, a Post2Host service in his primary language, or just a paid hosting service.
  • It's a disaster to use Google translator to translate anything from/to Chinese. :) I guess an Oxford or Merriam-Webster dictionary at hand would be much more helpful.
  • I hope you have already noticed that I am a Chinese person, by the way.

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.
