I doubt it will be a war with the US and China as contestants like it was in the 50'ies. Both countries have way too much money invested in each others countries. In todays world, economy is valued higher than ideology and human life, and such war would not be economically doable. So, personally I doubt it will become any worse than it currently is.

@2348z - Military Alliances - South Korea is allied with the US, which is also why the US have already sent some aircraft carriers. On the other hand, you have North Korea, which is an old ally of China. So if either attacks one another, they are diplomatically bound to help one another. But neither China nor the US wants to have a war, because, unlike the Iraq war, there is nothing to gain, but much to loose, economically.
