Switching to forum-based signups for now - Zach - 09-22-2010

Well, we like hosting people. It makes us happy and karmalicious to be able to lend a helping hand to our fellow e-people. However, recently spammers, viagra hawkers, and script kiddies (shudder) have attempted to invade our glorious server. This is not good. So, we've basically removed automation from the process. New users go to the brand spanking new Request Hosting forum, read the sticky thread, and post a request. It will be approved or denied within 48 hours.

Our old automation system was buggy, to say the least. It had issues connecting, and most of it's validation was out of whack. It was kind of a security risk. Happily enough, the makers of that software are working on their 2.0 version as we speak, so someday forum registrations will end.

Until that day, though, we're stuck with this.

Haha. This isn't terrible or anything - the same plans are still available. It's just a new method.

I think its better too, FR use to do that for reseller requesting!
Now THT though.

I think requesting on forum is better than automation as well

So we have to request for a subdomain website? O_O

RE: Switching to forum-based signups for now - Zach - 09-27-2010

Yes, and we do that so that users will have a functional domain from the get-go as opposed to waiting for DNS resolution. You can add parked and addon domains in cPanel.

I think this is a big improvement. :)
