The "best antivirus" really depends.
I've personally used Norton for many years now and I would have to say that it's almost perfect. Yes, it does lag your computer, but only if you're running too many programs. That's why I rate it a little less than perfect.
If you're looking for free anti-viruses, Malwarebytes is the way to go. I originally had AVG on my computer, but I uninstalled it because it was slow and made my PC lag. It also gave a lot of false alarms and told me to remove programs that it perceived as "threats." However, Malwarebytes doesn't use too much of the CPU and best of all, it's the fastest out of all the free anti-viruses when it comes to scanning. I have to say that it is very effective at removing trojans, virus, and spyware from my computer. I almost like it more than Norton.
In short, if you're looking for a free antivirus, get Malware-bytes. If you don't mind paying a bit extra, get Norton.

I hate them both, Mcafee has lots of issues and Norton Antivirus finds them but then does not remove it. :(

To be true, I don't like both.
I would go for Kaspersky and ESET if you really want a good antivirus.

Choose AVG Free, it is a lot better than Norton.
