Microsoft Bought Skype - neverforget98 - 08-22-2011

I think that Skype being in the hands of Microsoft is great! I think that it will be handled more securely, and will have many more updates and features. I think that this will be a great benefit to not only Microsoft, but it's customers too. Knowing what the team does already, I think they will do everything they can to make Skype a better program for users to do video calling. I mean, they already have Windows Live, but they might implant more features from Windows Live into Skype, and that would be pretty awesome too. It's just time to see what they will do, and I hope all the best for them.
What do you think?

Porting some features from Windows Live to Skype could be interesting, but I'm just wondering if they will now put advertising in Skype's interface or that annoying pop-up window coming up when the messenger connects to the service.

I dislike such advertising!

Or they might make everyone use Windows Live instead. :/ That would like, be scary. Horror. :/

OH NO!!! Don't even mention it!

Besides the annoying pop up, advertising and the like, Windows Live eats up too many system resources and sometimes is hard to connect to the service whether is about firewall settings or trouble with their servers.

Nothing of this was ever happening with the easy-going Skype service.

I think that Microsoft made a smart move by purchasing Skype; it was a fast growing utility and now they have full control over it. I hope that they don't try to merge it with windows live since it'd definitely screw over people who didn't have WL before. Skype never had anything wrong with it and these past few weeks it's just been acting up, I blame it on Microsoft trying to "make it better". There was nothing wrong with Skype! They should've let it alone.

I never encounter advertisements on Windows Live. And I think they made a smart move buying it, I just don't think they will make smart decisions with it in their hands. /:

That's just one of many ways Microsoft is advertising inside Windows Live.

But what will this mean for non-windows Skype users? I use it on my Mac. Others use it on Linux, iOS, and Android, though I believe there are other OSs too...

Microsoft can not afford to lose customers which use the Skype version for Linux / Mac OSX / iOS / Android / Windows Phone 7 and so on.

I think that Microsoft will continue to maintain the versions for non-windows users.
