What are you playing? - Dante - 08-02-2011

As the thread title asks, what game are you playing right now?

Personally, I've been playing a LOT of Sonic Unleashed lately. Playing it because of Sonic Generations hype, mostly. Will play Colors when I finish Unleashed.

Thing is, I didn't know Unleashed was so friggin' good until I sank more into it. At first the day levels are extremely short and easy, but later on it becomes so extremely insane that I can't help but love it! So far, the stage that is a highlight for me is the day Act 1 of Skyscraper Scamper.

That stage is pure insanity and it's pretty challenging too! Some of the extra acts (I think you only really need act 1 of day and night to progress through the story) are also really different from the 1st acts and really challenging too.

There's also a lot of content, specially for those that have to get everything. Will take a while to get all medals, artbooks, video tapes, records, etc.

My only issue with the game is in the Werehog stages. Not the Werehog itself, mind you, but the terrible platforming section during those stages. It's so hard to properly control the Werehog and some of those platforming sections are just stupidly annoying because of that. The Werehog stages also FEEL too long. The game would be perfect, in my opinion, if there Werehog stages didn't have platforming! Or at least not too much of it.

My favorite Werehog stage is the first act of Arid Sands since it has little to no platforming, making it a straight beat-'em-up. Really fun one.

I think I will get the DLC when I finish this game... but anyway, yeah.

What are YOU playing right now?

I am still trying to get all the achievements in GTA IV and Saints Row 2. There is this multiplayer achievement in GTA IV that I still need 2,300,000 XP to get. That is a good 20-40 hours of grinding to get a 20G achievement. I also need to finish Saints Row 2 in co-op and unlock all the collectibles, which will be fun.

I like to play horror and adventure games in my PlayStation, but sadly I have not bought any new title since some years back to date and I have not had enough time to play like in the past.

Sometimes I used to play for over 12 hours in a row, LOL

However one of these days I will take some time to find out new games and try them out :)

I love sonic too. It's the best video game franchise ever. I've been playing Sonic 4: Episode 1 on my iPhone. I'm happy to see 2D sonic back after all these years, but it's just not the same. The physics are all wrong. When you let go of the d-pad sonic just drops to the ground instead of moving in the direction momentum would take him. It gets very annoying when you're used to the old games and used to real life physics. Hopefully, they'll fix this for episode 2.

I'm not a big gamer, but I occasionally enjoy some MMORPG's or Strategy games.
Some computer games I've played recently are:

Age of Empires, Age of Kings: A classic. Better than the first and third AoE. Pretty funny in multiplayer mode, when played with friends.
Osu!: Anime-like rhythm game, you can download songs (called beatmaps) from their website. You can also make them yourself from any songs.
The Sims 3: Just testing this out, seems that not a lot of differences when compared to The Sims 2. Slows my computer pretty much when playing.

I've only played the trial/demo of Sonic 4 and I thought it was terrible. Convinced me to not waste my money getting the game, at least.

Now, Sonic Generations will be good, I hope. I've played the demo of Generations and the 2D stages are pretty damn good, based on that. Modern stages are pretty much like they are in Unleashed, so it seems that both Classic and Modern stages are really damn good. I'm hyped for Generations!

Currently I'm playing Call of Duty: Black Ops trying to get to a higher prestige. I'm only at the 3rd right now because I stopped playing the game, but now I've started it and won't stop until Modern Warfare 3 gets released in a couple months.

Team Fortress 2: Recommending this to shooter lovers out there. Character personalities, yay!
Dragon Nest: Hack-and-slash game that lags like 90% of games. Recommending this to action lovers out there.
Minecraft: I'm playing this only occasionally. Seed exploring atm.

Anyone that has a decent PC and hasn't tried this is evil. There's no reason not to now that it's FREEEE!

I have recently been playing a lot of Garrys Mod. It's a really awesome sandbox game that everyone should own if they have a copy of Half Life 2 (which it needs to run).

I play a lot of the Trouble in Terrorist Town custom gametype which is a 'find the traitor' type gamemode. Fun stuff. :)

I'm also downloading Crimecraft since that just went free to play. Hopefully it will be good.
