Are you satisfied with your Internet connection and your Internet Service Provider? - Serial Thrilla - 05-30-2011

Dear Niftyhost Members and Clients,

In recent times the Internet is growing and poor countries get the Internet that other rich countries have to pay several million dollars per year. However, in most countries, the customers are getting scammed lately by their Internet Service Providers. And noone does something against this problem.

So I decided to start a small survey. I don't need your private data or things similar to privacy. What I need is simple. First, I need the name of your Internet Service Provider. And secondly I need the plan that is offered to you by your ISP (I mean the internet plan you currently use). And last I need your opinion about your ISP and the Internet.

My current ISP: German Telekom (Deutsche Telekom)
--> My previous ISP: Freenet (Freenet AG)

My current plan: Call and Surf Comfort

Features of the plan:
-> WLAN/ WiFi Router (Speedport W 303V Type A in my case)
-> Surf and call at the same time with only one line
-> 6000 Kbps Speed (670 kB/s DOWN Stream - 67 kB/s UP Stream)
-> Dynamic IPv4 IP-address

My opinion:
Well, my opinion remains the same for this ISP. It is probably the largest ISP in Germany. It is the company from which you first get a telephone connection. You'd think the German Telekom is like the first TV broadcaster in the country. It is the most important. The prices are fair but a bit high if one compares the German Telekom with other ISPs. It always achieves full speed and quality (if you have the lines). I get disconnected from the Internet several times a day. Sometimes I lose the full connection to the DSL server. I have 88% Packet Loss on all testing platforms on the internet. My ping is 40 - 50ms avg on every test (includes servers in near area), while other people have a ping of 10 - 25ms. I can't change my ISP as there are no other ISPs in my area. I rate my ISP with awesome 10/10 stars Heart.

Not quite, my ip is dynamic , but my internet speed is 100mb/s .

100 Mbit is not bad. Thats a company network. If its bad for you then you should buy a 6 Mbit home connection and deal with a 94x slower connection. In fact you mean 100 kB/s then your connection is really bad.

My (phone/wireless) internet connection is ok, as long as I don't want to host anything. If I really would like to host something I would have to do that at home, because I got a pretty good connection there. I would like to at though: Speedtest tests aren't really accurate in my opinion.

I don't do Speedtest often because it's not the most accurate thing there is. My 3G (mobile) connection on an Android device isn't bad for browsing on the go- although I don't like limits. 512MB annoys me for the price I'm paying :P Home Internet isn't too bad- I code which doesn't require a 100s of MBs per second if you get what I mean.

^-- My results after using up my 5gb using my dongel (mobile internet usb thingy)

It might not be super quick all the time, but it does get the job done and I never have any lag... Not even when playing games like counterstrike and such.
