"View Unread Posts" on the forum? - RichardGv - 05-29-2011 I rely heavily on my Python script to check for new posts. It uses the "View new posts" page to check for unread posts. All unread posts disappear from the "view new posts" list if the user has no visited the forums for... Probably 15 minutes. Perhaps yesterday I shut my computer down without noticing there were unread posts remaining, and next time I booted it, the older unread posts did not appear, and I ignored all these new posts until I checked NiftyHost forums in Firefox today -- which is, of course, annoying. If we could install the plugin View Unread Posts, these kind of issues can be avoided. Well, it avoids the problems of almost nobody except me, though. :D Anyway, I've seen it running on the forums of one of my friend gracefully for months, and it shouldn't be much a hassle to install it here. RE: "View Unread Posts" on the forum? - HiddenKnowledge - 05-29-2011 I'll test-run this for a few days to see if it works. Unless someone has a reason to not like accurate new posts.
