RE: Are you satisfied with your Internet connection and your Internet Service Provider? - MyDigitalpoint - 08-02-2011 I was satisfied with my Internet Service Provider when it was Prodigy a few years back, but I could not longer afford to pay the package I had subscribed (the best one) and I had to drop this service. After this, I was connected thanks to the generosity of a friend who let me connect via wireless until I got a new Internet subscription, the actual. And I'm not satisfied at all, but I can't get back to Prodigy yet. My actual provider is Cablevision, and my main complaint is that I hardly make available my localhost on the web like I used to do with Prodigy :( RE: Are you satisfied with your Internet connection and your Internet Service Provider? - MisaTange - 08-04-2011 ((Surprised that my ping is rated A as I lag on online games)) Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with my Internet connection + provider. Might not be quick all the time, but gets the job done. Though I had problems with the wireless turning off randomly... we contacted our provider and it's not doing that anymore. RE: Are you satisfied with your Internet connection and your Internet Service Provider? - ErrorCode - 08-04-2011 Well, the way things work in my community is that you have to subscribe to the provider they give you. It's part of your agreement to live here, I guess. I'm not very pleased, however; huge lack of channels, faulty service, and mediocre customer support. It's pretty annoying, actually. I usually just watch Netflix. RE: Are you satisfied with your Internet connection and your Internet Service Provider? - OmarFW - 08-04-2011 I am currently on Comcast and they are probably the worst provider I can think of. It's no surprise they were named worst corporation in america two years in a row. The speed and stability are actually fine (although I share my bandwidth with my neighbors which isn't necessary) but Comcast is the absolute worst when it comes to support. They have caused house fires from bad installation jobs, they send you in more endless calling loops more than a freaking cell phone provider and they introduce bandwidth caps similar to data usage plans that are designed to justify huge monthly bills because of an accidental over-usage. I also can't go to Verizon Fios anymore (which was AMAZING when I had it) since Fios is not sold in my area anymore and was bought up by Frontier which is trying to get rid of their internet service by rocketing their prices through the roof. Clearwire and wireless internet in general is also horrible in terms of stability (though their service is phenomenal compared to Comcast.) RE: Are you satisfied with your Internet connection and your Internet Service Provider? - gamingmaster42 - 08-07-2011 The company I am with is supposed to be great but unfortunately I don't pay that much $$$ for my Internet so I get a pretty crappy connection: RE: Are you satisfied with your Internet connection and your Internet Service Provider? - Cecil15 - 08-08-2011 My ISP is Smart Broadband and the plan that we have is Plan 999. It can be up to 2 Mbps. Here's my speedtest results: In my opinion, my connection is a bit slow. Specially when it rains, it can really be terrible. But so far, I can browse well with the sites I'm in so that's pretty fine with me. RE: Are you satisfied with your Internet connection and your Internet Service Provider? - pqnation - 08-20-2011 I'm currently living in Mexico and being from the states I'm used to very fast internet connectivity. My current internet provider is Infinitum Telmex and my average speed is 54.0 Mbps. It might seem like an average, acceptable speed but it's not. As a graphic designer and programmer, I need, and used to, a faster internet connection. Same here, but let me tell you that from the local ISP, Prodigy Infinitum is the most reliable, particularly if you need to enable the DMZ zone to make your dynamic IP publicly available on the net. Axtel Extremos promises speeds up to 100 mbps, but I have not tested it yet. However the fastest Internet I have tried in Mexico has been Iusacell 3G (now 4G) which is an Internet mobile service via USB connection. RE: Are you satisfied with your Internet connection and your Internet Service Provider? - TayneC8 - 08-22-2011 No, I really hate Talktalk, they may be cheap, but they're very terrible. They're down a few hours a day, and they're very slow. I've not seen such a slow provider. I wish I could go to BT, but I just can't afford BT at the moment, when I have more money I might consider switching to BT. RE: Are you satisfied with your Internet connection and your Internet Service Provider? - neverforget98 - 08-22-2011 I am with a local ISP called Eastlink. We pay over $80 for 40MB/s download and 2MB/s upload, and we only get half of it, and may 75% of it. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I am provided, and I am soon hoping to switch to Bell Aliant's Fiber Optic internet. |
