To be honest, the header is fine, but I don't find the bright-colored design to be very mafia'ish. If I were you, I would experiment a little with some darker colors. Along with some images (or silhuettes) or some mafia guys with black tux's, shoes and hats, you know the Vice City/Scarface kinda style. Also on the frontpage, I would focus more on the game-theme rather than having stats and news all over the place, kinda like this: http://www.ogame.org/ - (but with mafia stuff instead of sci/fi of course).
