Recently, a lot of people have been copy & pasting a fair amount of news from news sites and thus scoring easy post points. While this isn't against the rules, it is against the rules not provide article sources (See rule §3 under Additional Rules.)

Furthermore, if/when you copy & pasty articles from websites, it's common that some image material names is included along. Please either remove or correct these links.

A third thing is, that you are advised to remove any textual ads that might be present within the copied news. There is no reason to bring them along.

As Copy&Pasting directly is lame, please instead provide a small snippet of the article, please use the quote tool to do this. This isn't a requirement (yet?), but it is recommended. Then afterwards, please provide you're own opinions/comments on what you posted.

The only exception to this, is when you've written the news yourself - If you write it yourself, please try to make it as grammatically correct as possible, so it won't be as painful to read, and if possible make use of correct formatting.

To be honest, I would prefer that we dont copypasta at all, it hurts our PageRank.

+1 what Matt said. The point of News is to facilitate discussion about world happenings, not to syndicate articles from online newspWrite your own take on a story, link to some sources, and watch the discussion flourish.
