yeah so port 22 isn't working either.......
Mike experienced success with port 22 earlier. Try enabling SFTP or Secure FTP in your FTP client.

Well, I don't know about SmartFTP but FileZilla has a "Server Type" setting where you can put SFTP and the port box being 22.

When you make a new connection ("New Remote Browser"), in the first dropdown ("Protocol :"), just select the 4th option ("SFTP over SSH"). ;)
Okay, maybe i'm being stupid but it's not working for me >_<; What's the server again?
Niftyhost.us or ftp.niftyhost.us. If you are trying to use an account created through cPanel's FTP Accounts manager, please append @yourprimarydomain.n1fty.com to the end.
[17:39:12] SmartFTP v4.0.1092.0
[17:39:12] Connect failed. Waiting to retry (30s)...

Not so much as a connection. =\
Try connecting via IP 208.53.183.61 as your server. If that doesn't work, go in the live chat and politely ask yourmghq to fix the firewall.
Host for me is: [email protected]
So, your might want to try: ftp@(sub)domain (like the above)
