Hello. This is probably going to be one of the hardest things I will ever have to do.
NiftyHost recently hit it's first year of operation. We had been through many things - enemies, betrayals, outages, DDoSes, etc. But there were also many good things. And now, that must all come to an end.
As you know, NiftyHost was supposed to be moving to a new server because mghq cannot pay for the current one any longer due to some personal financial struggles and the host is not bringing enough income in to pay for NiftyHost by itself. Luckily, we found a company willing to let us move to their servers. Unfortunately, due to security concerns and technical difficulties, there is no quick (or even relatively manageable) way to move all of your accounts over in time for the server shutdown.
It pains me to say this, but I do not see NiftyHost moving to a new server. I have been trying to move the accounts over myself by logging into each and every account independantly to download a backup and reupload it to the new server, but this is impossible - my Internet connection is too slow for this and I just wanted to put my head down and hide when I saw the hundreds of hours of difficult, tedious work that this would involve.
But do not despair, you will not lose your web sites. You can go to http://66.90.97.229/cpanel/ and login before February 13th, 2011 to download your site backup and move to another web host, a list of which will be posted shortly.
NiftyHost will cease to be a web host for the foreseeable future, but the web site will continue to stay here if anybody still finds a reason to hang around our forums.
I apologize for this. I really do. I love NiftyHost, and to see this happen to it is absolutely heartbreaking. But there is no other way. Sorry. I hope to see you all around.
Sincerely,
Zack
WEB HOSTS
We're back, baby.
1st zemhost :( now niftyhost :(, well i must write my farewell
Mhm. Good things never last.
This is terrible news, I'm sorry.
Hmm... Sounds like it's some sort of destiny for Post2Host service...
Anyway:
  1. David (Well, you know which David I'm talking about) said he will transfer all your clients over if you like. Not sure whether he does have this ability. Email him if you think it's applicable.
  2. Meh, you forgot (or didn't intend?) to add Robert/David's hosting service to the list.
Zack, check you PM ASAP!!!!

you are a grinch, you cant just close the community cuz u paid for it, this is run by a community, so it should be decided by the community, and talking about the money, i think zack has done more than you on nifty. and if you have better things to invest on, why did u do it on nifty at first
Hi Zack,

Please see your PM :)

Thanks,

Alex.
